The black ceramic work Five Stones could be out of the ground; actually, it is out of the ground, but the materials have been fiddled with. They are not in-situ, although, to look at them they could be. They could be strange coal from under Lithgow. My practice is a sculptural exploration into how we think we know materials. Often (although not always as Five Stones demonstrates) my work and is about sound and how it resides in objects and materials.
