M Bozzec’s artistic practice focuses on drawing & the use of language.
Their work explores the political & the personal, investigating the poetic intersection between words & images.
Found phrases & found images, gleaned from diverse sources, are the starting point for M Bozzec’s multi -panel installations of drawings.
The processes of reading, writing, collecting, & memory inform their work.
M Bozzec studied at the National Art School, 1992 – 1994 (Diploma of Fine Arts) & UNSW College of Fine Arts, 1996 – 1999 (Bachelor of Art Education).
They have been a finalist in the Dobell Prize for Drawing in 2003, 2006, 2012, & 2019, & the Hazelhurst Art on Paper Award in 2011, 2013, 2015, 2017, & 2019.
M Bozzec is represented by Kronenberg Mais Wright Artists Projects, East Sydney.
