Yvette Hamilton is an interdisciplinary artist whose workexplores the evolving medium of photography and vision in the currentpost-photographic era. Working with photography, video, programming,installation and interactivity, she combines early photographic techniques withpost-photographic methodology to create new conditions for looking at the actof ‘seeing’.
She is a sessional lecturer in the Bachelor of Photography degree at UTS and acurrent PhD candidate at the University of Sydney. Yvette’s work has been shownin Australia and overseas in exhibitions at venues such as PingyaoInternational Festival of Photography, Lewisham Arthouse London, Perth Centrefor Photography, Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre, Hazelhurst Regional Gallery andDominik Mersch Gallery, Sydney. She has been a finalist in the Josephine Ulrick& Winn Schubert Award, the Paramor Prize, the Fishers Ghost Art Prize, theMeroogal Women’s Art Prize, the Grace Cossington Smith Award, the Iris Awardand was the winner of the Sydney College of the Arts winner of the Dominik MerschGallery Award and a recipient of an Australia Council Artstart grant.
